Ring friction springs are unique energy absorbers that is absorbed on the basis of mutual friction of conical surfaces of inner and outer rings during loading. The characteristics of springs is independent of the ambient temperature and the speed of their compression.
Ring friction springs absorb more than 60% of received work. Ring friction springs are resistant to overloading in most applications because in their maximum stroke the front ends of inner rings fit closely to each other. Ring friction springs operate reliably at temperatures from - 50 °C to + 80 °C.
